Paraje
Wines

A “Paraje” is a recognized site inside a village (Geographical Indication) that stands out because of its distinct climate and soil characteristics, although it does not have strictly defined boundaries, politically speaking.

These wines come from a selection of vineyards within a Paraje, a unique site that truly expresses the character of the place. The place is the protagonist, with its varieties, soil and history.

“As viticulturists, we seek to convey the identity and uniqueness of each Paraje through a deep knowledge and respect for the place.”

Fósil

ORIGIN: IG San Pablo, Tunuyán, Valle de Uco, Mendoza.

ALTITUDE: 1400 m | 4593 ft

VARIETY: 100% Chardonnay

Fósil is a white mountain wine. It comes from our vineyard in Estancia San Pablo within the IG San Pablo, at 1400 meters (4,593 ft) of elevation, and just 600 meters (1969 ft) away from the beginning of the Andes Mountains.

The immensity of the mountain range and its proximity make everything in this place extreme: its climate, its landscape, its identity.

Fósil is a wine of place. Born from the unrepeatable combination of cold climate, calcareous soils, and Andean breezes from one of the highest areas of the Uco Valley.

Botánico

ORIGIN: Gualtallary, Tupungato, Valle de Uco, Mendoza

ALTITUDE: 1360 – 1385 m | 4462 – 4544 ft

VARIETY: 100% Chardonnay

Botánico is a white wine of the landscape. It comes from our vineyards in Gualtallary Monasterio, Valle de Uco, at an altitude between 1,360 and 1,385 meters. The scenic beauty of the hills is complemented by the typical grasslands and flora of the area such as jarilla herbs, thyme, desert grass and broom shrubs.

Together they give way to the vineyards that try to capture the richness of these calcareous soils and the entire biosphere, achieving something unique, unrepeatable, which is expressed through this Chardonnay. Botánico is a wine of Paraje. A combination of soil, climate and the typical vegetation of a place that make it something unique.

Aluvional is our search for expressing the particular identity of different sites of the Uco Valley.

What is it that makes our places so different but similar at the same time? The Andes Mountains, an inexhaustible source of richness and diversity.

When we started exploring the Uco Valley, we understood that the common denominator of its vineyards is the origin of its soils. They are alluvial soils, originated over millions of years ago by alluviums that, through the overwhelming force of the water flowing down the mountains, transported all the rocks, sediments, and minerals on which our vines grow today.

This is how we find different places at the foot of the mountain range, with an enormous diversity of landscapes, soils and climates, people, cultures, and histories.

Our challenge is to reveal that identity with transparency, and that is why we chose Malbec as a vehicle of expression.
