The Tunuyán River irrigates most of the vineyards in Mendoza, and the Canal Uco is the first canal that draws water from it. It has been the vital pulse of irrigation in the southern part of the Uco Valley for decades.
Finca Canal Uco was the first vineyard the family planted in the Uco Valley, marking the beginning of our journey discovering the identity of Paraje Altamira.

The vineyard´s alluvial soils with gravel covered in limestone were irrigated for decades with water from the Uco Canal, the channel that draws water from the Tunuyán River. In its landscape, malbec vines coexist with enormous stones, groves of poplar tress, and a majestic backdrop of the Andes Mountains.
